Meet some of my makeover’s

During the month of September, I was honoured to take part in a competition that involved 10 people get complete makeovers – from head to toe. It was part of a major competition run by Roselands Centro Shopping Centre . 5 customers and 5 staff were chosen. All the makeovers will feature in the Roselands Style Magazine (out today),  Caitlyn has secured the honour of being the covergirl of the magazine this year. This is the second year I was involved in this competition and I must say it’s one of the most gratifying projects ever. My favourite part of it all, is watching them admiring their new look for the first time, and then seeing them develop an incredible sense of confidence and swagger. I just love what I do!!! 🙂  Please meet my lovely makeover contestants (simply click on an image if you would like to see the image bigger) …. first up we have Beth.

Nicole – from fuzzy to fabulous

When I first met Nicole, the first thing I noticed was her fuzzy, frizzy out of control hair. There was lots of it, so much of it that I hardly noticed her sexy size 10 figure, her stunning eyes, long legs and amazing skin. I look down at my notes and choke, only to realise her age. She was dressing for someone so much more mature, I had to banish the safe white shirt and jeans combo, and replace it with something that would showcase her lovely figure.

Here’s the before pic…

Something about Nicole reminded me of Katie Holmes. So for this fashion episode, I decided to ‘play’ Victoria Beckham and take Nicole under my Gucci clad wing. Step one was to tame the fuzz. I instructed the hair stylist, we needed something straight, sleek, sexy and edgy. Think Rihanna. A new shade of colour was added to give the hair some vibrancy.

Next on my ‘to do’ list was clothes. Nicole is a classic column shape, which means her frame is quite up and down, no strong curves much like Nicole Kidman or Gwyneth Paltrow. So the trick is to find clothes, that make you look more feminine and curvaceous. I found a cute printed dress from Portmans. The ruffles on the sleeve, help create the illusion of wider shoulders, and the softly fluted dress skims over her hips and gives her some more booty. The movement in the print also helps create a softer, more curvy look. The dress cinches her in, right under the best – which is the most narrow part of her body, showcasing her slim she is. The sexy shorter hemline shows off those incredibly amazing legs.

I accesorised her look with a stack of bracelets and necklace from Portmans. The tones in the jewellery match the dress perfectly. Some gold strappy high heel pumps, elongate her frame and make her legs look even more delicious.

Makeup – the brief was brief. I literally just said “Bring out her eyes, some lippy and blush”. Nicole already had great skin and features, so makeup was kept light simply used to bring out her best features.

Well, that brings us to that moment…. drumroll… here is her after shot….
